Registration for the Oughtred Society 2019 Annual Meeting the weekend of April 20, 2019 at the
National Atomic Testing Museum, Las Vegas, Nevada
Hotel Accomodations:
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Four Points
by Sheraton Las Vegas East Flamingo at a flat rate of $102/night (plus tax)for Friday and Saturday nights. A limited number of
rooms have been set aside, so early reservations are recommended. See below for details. The hotel will
hold the rate until March 15, 2019 at 5 PM Nevada time. Note: Cancellations after March 15 may result in a one night charge!
Exact instructions from the hotel for obtaining the special $102 rate for the OS are: Dial 702-473-6400, select
Reservations (option 1). Say "Booking for the Oughtred Society Meeting 2019 at $102 rate".
The Four Points hotel is located 1.3 miles from the Las Vegas Strip at 4055 Palos Verdes Street, Las Vegas 89119 and is located across Flamingo Ave.
from the Atomic Testing Museum, within easy walking distance. This hotel does have shuttle service to the airport. There is
city bus service on Flamingo Road, so those without a car could easily get to the Las Vegas Strip without walking far.
McCarran Airport is located a very short taxi ride away, so again a car is not necessary. (It should be noted that the mega-sized
hotels may appear to be close together - but they can be a long walk apart!).
An optional welcome dinner will be held Friday evening at the hotel in a private room with a fine selection
of food supplied by Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurant. In addition, after the meeting on Saturday an optional "wrap-up" dinner
will be held at the hotel in a private room. These dinners have been popular at past meetings with lots of
interaction and discussions!
Please reserve for each dinner by March 15, 2019 so that we can get the food ordered and
the space reserved.
All attendees are encouraged, but not required, to bring slide rules and/or calculators to display and to sell or trade.
See the FLYER for some examples of items that have been offered
for sale or auction at the previous meetings. This is an opportunity to enhance your collection, learn from fellow collectors, enjoy
a unique slide rule experience, renew friendships and make some new friends!
Some of the items to be auctioned off this year include:
