THE OUGHTRED SOCIETY WINTER MEETING
This Year in LOS ANGELES

You are invited to attend the Oughtred Society Annual West Coast Winter Meeting, to be held for the first time in Los Angeles, California on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at the Autry National Center.

The meeting will feature displays of slide rule and mechanical calculator collections, an educational presentation by Richard Smith Hughes, an auction, buying, selling, swapping and the opportunity to meet and talk with fellow slide rule enthusiasts. A dinner will be held Friday evening, February 24 at the Daily Grill in nearby Burbank, CA.

All attendees are encouraged, but not required, to bring slide rules and/or calculators to display, to sell or to trade at the meeting.

This meeting is open to Oughtred Society members and non-members. You do not need to be a member of The Oughtred Society to attend.

The meeting will feature displays of slide rule collections, an auction, buying, selling and swapping, and the opportunity to meet and talk with fellow slide rule enthusiasts. Also included is a tour of the Autry National Center.

All attendees are encouraged to bring slide rules and/or calculators to display and to sell or trade. Five foot tables are furnished.

Plan now to attend and enjoy some fun vacation days in Los Angeles!

1:00 Auction followed by open buying, selling and trading.
4:30 Meeting concludes.

No Saturday evening event has been planned. Groups of attendees probably will gather for dinner at various restaurants.

7 PM - Free parking with restaurant validation
Choice of entrée: Charbroiled Salmon, Charbroiled Skirt Steak, Grilled Herb Chicken Breasts Soup or salad and dessert included. Beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, not included but available from the menu and charged to you individually. $40 per person; includes tax and service charges.

Registration

Note: Membership in the Oughtred Society is not required to register for this meeting or the dinner. Meeting registration fee is $35 for Early Registration (through February 10, 2012) and $45 thereafter. You may bring non-displaying guests free to the meeting, but only two free museum tour tickets will be provided per registration. Lunch (not included) is available at the museum café or local restaurants. The meeting registration fee is used to pay all meeting expenses, including meeting room charges, morning and afternoon refreshments, exhibition tables, other equipment rental, museum tour, etc.

Dinner is $40 per person before February 10, 2012, $45 thereafter (if seating is available). Meeting registration is not required for dinner registration.
